A conversation with the Contemporary Group at The Royal Photographic Society

Updated: Oct 3, 2022

A few months back I was invited to talk about the project I have been working on in lockdown called 'Getting Through This'. I really appreciated the invite to talk about the work I had produced during lockdown, the work captures people's emotions in reflection to living in the pandemic. Getting Through This is a project to help support mental health, allowing people to express their feelings without vocalising. I walked through the Birmingham streets in the West Midlands to photograph a range of people from different backgrounds and cultures. Using my camera as a powerful tool to capture a variety of messages that people in the community can relate to. It was so great to reach more people with the project but also to meet new people. You can watch the recording of the talk below.

I really hope that the project can continue to help more people in the community.
